California!

So, some think I’m crazy, some think I’m brave... Whatever it is, I’ve picked up and left the familiar once again and moved to San Francisco for the time being. I’ve been here about a week and so far so good.

The living situation. My roommate is nice, the place is clean. I really can’t complain. The only downside is I commute 40 minutes into the city to get to work. But, the area is safe and I’m within walking distance of the beach and Golden Gate Park. But, other than that, there is not much to do. I’m only here for 2 months, so no biggie.

The work situation. I love love love my job. They threw me right in the fire from day one. So far, I’ve done e-mail pitching, media monitoring, media list building, and everyone’s favorite...clips! Most of the junior-level staff is made up of women my age or just a lil older and they are a lot of fun. The weirdest thing is one of my coworkers knows two people I went to high school with and another one went to Penn State and is going to Corning for a wedding this weekend. Its a small world.

The only downside of this whole situation is I’m so far from my family and I don’t have a lot of friends here. But, you can’t expect to have a whole new social circle overnight. But as long as I have the work to keep me busy, along with my new iBook to keep me company, I’ll be okay. I’m feeling pretty content right now.

One of the highlights of the week was hanging out with Ward and Sode. They visited me on Monday and we went out to dinner. It went something like this: Drive around, find a good area to eat, try to find parking unsuccessfully, drive around and find another area, fail at finding parking, drive around, find parking, decide we are going to find somewhere to eat there, eat. It was a good time. Then on Wednesday, I took the CalTrain down to Santa Clara and chilled there for the night. We saw War of the Worlds, okay movie. And got the 7:15am train to make it to work by 9. Good times.

Hmm, this is post really is kinda lame, considering its taking me forever to write. But, I just wanted to let everyone know I’m doing all right and I miss you all. The phone calls, e-mails and instant messages are really comforting (keep them coming!) and its nice to know people are thinking of me.

I think you're sexy. Don't get aids in san fran. I heard you can get it from breathing there. :)
